Summer Skincare Tips

Summer is for long days outside. Whether it’s on the beach, playing tennis, at the lake or in the pool, more likely than not, your skin is more exposed during this season than any other, making the summer season the perfect time to revamp your skincare routine- or create one! *This article was originally posted on Madison McKinley Designs, In The Saddle. Written by: Emily Landers Here are our favorite summer tips to help you create a perfect facial routine that can last all year round. PASS THE SUNSCREEN Mom usually knows best and when it comes to summer skincare tips, we’re resorting back to our younger years when lathering sunscreen on was a prerequisite for a beach day. Consider this an encouragement to lather up this summer, as there’s no greater reversal for skin damage than covering up BEFORE it happens. Try out Coola Sunscreen, they use as many natural and organic ingredients as possible to bring you the purest, most eco-conscious products.   Don’t forget your lips! This Coola lip balm will keep …

Georgia’s Wedding Weekend at The Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch

This summer Luke and I attended the most amazing wedding of one of my best friends in Vail, Colorado at The Ritz Bachelor Gulch. It was truly one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to with the most joyful, calm and sweetest bride. From our first breakfast (with THE bride) to the reception under the stars, Luke and I felt so honored to be apart of such a beautiful weekend. Luke and I flew LAX to Denver and the Denver to Eagle Airport. From Eagle we took a shuttle about 25/30 minutes to the insanely pretty Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch. We planned to arrive late on Friday night but ended up getting in around 1:30am due to mechanical issues with our plane from Denver to Eagle, so we missed the dramatic drive up to The Ritz but woke up filled with excitement to explore the stunning property and see our friends. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly (and very awake) staff who welcomed us and proceeded to give us a short …

Whitney’s Bachelorette Weekend

Two weeks ago I was in Texas to host my twin sister’s Bachelorette Weekend. Whitney had decided months ago she wanted to have a getaway with her bridesmaids and friends at a lake house and luckily for us some very generous friends let us take over their incredible house for the weekend. We started off the weekend with dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in Dallas called True Food. My order is consistently the Tuscan Kale Caesar Salad with Salmon. If they ever take that off the menu, I have no idea what I’ll do. After dinner we carpooled out the lake and setup to fiesta! As a newlywed there’s something very special about time away with girlfriends, especially time with Whitney before she becomes a McIntosh. I always miss Luke and am constantly making mental notes of funny things that happen to share with him but it was so sweet to be present with Whitney, fully available to celebrate her in person. The weekend was ‘fiesta’ themed and we kicked it off with …

A Stay at The Betsy Hotel

Last week, before heading to a conference in Orlando I stopped in Miami to check out the classically cool Betsy Hotel on Ocean Drive.  Not surprisingly I documented the whole trip on snapchat. 🙂  Username: MissEmilyWarren. Upon arrival I found myself checking into a beautiful boutique hotel with exquisite Miami style. Think brown and white stripped couches, fuchsia orchids around every corner and a rotating wall of artwork for guests to enjoy. My royal suite came complete with a T.V. room, king sized bed and a bright white bathroom. My entry way boasted a walk in closet and a full length mirror, perfect placement as you do a double take before leaving for a night out in South Beach! The decor in my suite was lovely. Bright with light colors and soft touches of floral prints. My direct window views overlooked Ocean Drive and gave me a unparalleled view of the beach. The recently redesigned LT Steak & Seafood was simply delicious, not to mention cozy with a chic decor! The Spicy Tuna Rolls, Short Rib & …

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day Dad! I am currently flying to Miami and thinking of you. I think Father’s Day is an emotional day for me because I love you so very much. I can not express in words how much you mean to our family. Your unwavering faith has strengthened our family, your endless creativity has brought years of adventures and your kindness has lead our family to priceless moments with people who are marginalized in society. There are endless stories to prove your great love for God, your family and for people. I am so thankful to have had a front row seat for the past 25 years. I love you so much Dad! Thank you for everything. This year I gained another father figure in my wonderful father-in-law, John Landers. I am so thankful for the encouragement you have brought to Luke for so many years and how you have helped guide him and mold him into the man he is today. I am forever indebted to you and Nona for such a gift. I …

May Malibu Visits

We recently had my parents come and visit us in Malibu over Memorial Day Weekend. It’s always so fun to have them here and always a bit surreal. Being a newlywed and inviting your parents over to your fully stocked kitchen, home and new city has been one of the funnest parts about living in Calabasas. Everyone wants to visit! I always enjoy showing guests around the hiking trails behind our house in the Santa Monica Mountains. Luckily, my parents are usually up for the challenge! Good looking guys! Restaurants we frequented this trip: Tom’s Urban, L.A. Live Mendocino Farms, Agoura Hills Lemonade, Calabasas Gladstone’s, Malibu Thank you for coming to see us mom and dad! We love you! Until next time!!
